How long does it take to complete one live wedding guest portrait?
It depends!
Typically, I will be drawing a couple, but it could be an individual person or a larger group, so it depends on how many people. If it’s an individual person, it may take me about 5 minutes vs a larger group may take me about 20-30 minutes.
I also work in phases, so I don’t always start and finish one at a time. I try to draw everyone out in pencil first and then I will go back in and add color.
When guests ask me this on site, I will always recommend that they just check back in at the end of the night. I can’t always give an accurate answer because I draw everyone in order as they come and I may not be sure how many people are ahead. Also, your portraits are safe on the table me with us while you enjoy your time on the dance floor and don’t have to worry about it 💃
I will wrap each portrait in a protective plastic sleeve with a cardboard backer just in case but in my opinion, it’s safer to just leave it on the table with us until you leave the wedding.
